Spitfire MK912 makes it 16 for Biggin Hill
Almost exactly nine years after it was damaged in a forced landing, Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX MK912 (G-BRRA) returned to the skies on July 31 from London’s Biggin Hill Airport, with Dan Griffith at the controls. Built at Castle Bromwich in early 1944, it is the 16th example of the type restored by the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar. Previously finished in 64 Squadron colours, it now carries the 312 (Czechoslovak) Squadron markings it wore on D-Day. Plt Off Miroslav ‘Tony’ Liskutin
