St Helens is located on the northeast coast of Tasmania. The town is renowned for its game fishing and the airport is regularly used to transport fresh seafood to the Australian mainland.
Also operating out of the airport with its single unsealed runway are scenic flights with the Bay of Fires to the north or the alpine location of Ben Lomond National Park to the west.
Developed by Ken Hall, YSTH St Helens Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been recreated in detail with photorealistic textures and authentic vegetation. The runway surface has also been modelled with custom edge lights.
Other features include accurately modelled buildings with animated passengers, custom signs and ground clutter around the airport as well as an animated windsock.
