Stearman takes flight in MSFS

Golden Age Simulations has released the Boeing Stearman for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS).

The Stearman (Boeing) Model 75 was used as a military trainer aircraft in the United States and Canadian air forces during the 1930s and 1940s. After the conflict thousands of surplus aircraft were sold on the civilian market, where they became popular as crop dusters, sports aircraft and for aerobatics and wing walking at air shows.

Golden Age Simulations' Stearman collection features three variants: PT-17 N2S-3 – (six liveries), PT-13 N2S-5 (two liveries) and A75L300 fitted with the Lycoming R-680 radial engine and a Hamilton Standard constant speed propeller (two liveries).

The aircraft was coded using the Microsoft Flight Simulator native materials and the modern aerodynamics system. Other highlights include high-definition PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures and a custom sound set with recordings from a real Continental R-670. It also includes optional crew figures, modern GA Asobo pilot models or animated GAS vintage pilot and passenger.

Other details include civilian and military cockpit configurations, with accurately modelled controls and detailed texturing using PBR materials, an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) for controlling the aircraft's systems and fully operational front and rear cockpit positions.

An operations manual is included in the package, along with a paint kit. It also supports virtual-reality headsets. The Stearman is available on Just Flight's website for £15.49.
