Successful relocation for US museum

The Spirit of Flight Foundation museum opened its new facility at Nampa Municipal Airport in Idaho late last year

The museum features some 2000 aviation artifacts, including static and airworthy aircraft, its aim being to inspire different generations to explore aviation history. “We worked extremely hard to relocate the museum from Colorado to Idaho,” said director and co-founder Tracey Page. “Visitors won’t want to miss the Women in Aviation display at the new museum. It’s incredible!”

Museum president Gordon Page said he was excited to finally open the doors after 18 months of construction work. “The main building is 8,000sq ft with 3,200sq ft of office and gallery space,” he added. “The site allows for a future building to compliment the Spirit of Flight Center campus.”

The attraction hosted an opening ceremony on October 1 featuring flypasts, tours, music, food and a presentation by the US Navy’s John Flanagan.
