Swedavia inaugurates Arlanda test centre

To prepare for a surge in demand in the following months the facility will offer PCR and anti-body testing for passengers

,

Swedish operator, Swedavia has signed a contract with ExpressCare to establish a Covid-19 test centre at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

“It is very positive that we can now offer a totally necessary service that our passengers and airlines are asking for,” said Charlotte Ljunggren, director of market and commercial development at Swedavia. “The tests are important for the restart of travel, especially now before the digital health pass is launched.”

Travel regulations to different countries vary regarding how many hours a test is needed prior to departure. The response time for the PCR sample is two to four hours, whereas results from an antibody test are acquired in 30 to 60 minutes.

ExpressCare offer its services throughout the week, with a laboratory based on site for analysis. Once a negative result is obtained, the doctor issues a certificate in line with travel requirements.

The test centre is set to open in SkyCity at Arlanda on June 21.
