Swiss Dassault Mirage unveiled at Pima

Just over two years after its arrival former Swiss Air Force Dassault Mirage IIIRS R-2107 has been unveiled at its new home

The ever-expanding Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona recently revealed one of its more recent acquisitions.

Obtained by the collection through Dutch firm Piet Smedts Aero – which specializes in the sale, acquisition, and rental of former military aircraft – R-2107 was one of just 18 examples of the dedicated reconnaissance variant operated by the Swiss between 1967 and 2003.

The jet has been returned to the markings it wore with Fliegerstaffel (Fighter Squadron) 10 which was based at Buochs airfield in central Switzerland at the time of the type’s withdrawal in October 2003.
