Texas MD-87 crash: What do we know so far?
A private McDonnell Douglas MD-87 overran the runway and burst into flames at Houston Executive Airport yesterday (October 19). The jet, N987AK (c/n 49404), is believed to have had 21 people on board comprising 18 passengers and three crew. All managed to evacuate safely, with only two people reporting injuries. The aircraft first flew in December 1987 and was subsequently delivered to Finnair the following year.
