Third Maltese AW139 inducted

THE ARMED Forces of Malta officially inaugurated a third AW139 helicopter – ordered in July 2015 – with all three present for a ceremony at Malta International Airport in December. The third and final aircraft, AS1630 (c/n 31625, ex I-PTFT), joins the others, acquired in 2014, in border patrol and search and rescue missions. The $13.5m purchase was partly funded by the European Union. Paul Spiteri Lucas
