Scenery developer Burning Blue Design has announced that EGMT Thurrock Airfield for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available.

Nestled in the heart of Essex Thurrock is a small but busy general aviation airfield within the London commuter belt with thriving aircraft restoration and maintenance facilities and an aircraft graveyard tucked away behind the hangars. Its location provides views across the Essex countryside, Canary Wharf and London city.

Based on an October 2023 layout, the package for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been faithfully recreated by Burning Blue Design following on-site visits to ensure the highest levels of accuracy. It sports more than 50 custom 3D objects with Physically Based Rendering (PBR) effects and custom night lighting. Animations include hangar doors that close at night, custom windsocks and spectators.

Other highlights include various local landmarks, such as the Dog and Partridge pub located at the end of Runway 25, real-life static aircraft (Cessna 172N Skyhawk G-RARB) and high-resolution colour-corrected ground textures taken from Bing maps.
