Top Gun: Maverick Expansion Update

Asobo Studio has announced the Top Gun: Maverick expansion pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been delayed until May 2022.

Top Gun: Maverick

The release of the expansion pack was planned to coincide with the release of the new movie Top Gun: Maverick and Paramount Pictures has now announced it will be delaying its entire 2021 film slate due to the pandemic. Maverick will instead arrive next year on Memorial Day weekend in the US so the game's themed expansion will also be released then.

Here's the official message from the Microsoft Flight Simulator website:

"Paramount Pictures recently shifted the release date of Top Gun: Maverick to Memorial Day weekend, May 27, 2022. As we have previously announced, the Top Gun: Maverick expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator for Windows 10 PC, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass will be released alongside the movie. We look forward to sharing more information in the future."

When Flight Simulator's Top Gun expansion eventually lands on Xbox Series X|S and PC it'll be an entirely free update.
