French low-cost airline, Transavia France, plans to expand its operations at Stockholm Arlanda by adding a new direct route to Paris/Orly.
A number of services from Stockholm to Charles de Gaulle are already available, making the French capital more accessible. Additionally, as the world is gradually reopening, the desire for travel is increasing.
The carrier inaugurated a non-stop service between the Swedish hub and Montpellier on June 11, with new flights to Paris/Orly starting October 21.

“It is gratifying that now when the spread of the coronavirus is slowing as the vaccine rollout continues, we are seeing the beginning of a recovery for the aviation industry,” said Elizabeth Axtelius, director of aviation business at Swedavia. “That Transavia France after operating scarcely one month at Stockholm Arlanda, has chosen to invest further in the Swedish market and is increasing its range of flights available during what continue to be difficult times for the entire industry, is a sign of increased demand and a clear indication of Stockholm’s strong position.”
She added that the introduction of the digital Covid-19 certificate should “contribute to the travel restrictions being lifted in a coordinated way”.
Around 30,000 Swedish nationals living abroad do so in the city, making it one of the most popular destinations for Swedish nationals to visit, according to Swedavia.
The thrice weekly service – running on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays – will be operated by a Boeing 737-800.
