UK to test drones for perimeter security roles
The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) is looking to procure small multi-rotor uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) for use in perimeter security roles across its Logistic Support Operating Centre (LSOC) sites. According to a late-March Request for Information (RfI), the MOD will initially procure one drone and associated equipment for use over a six-month period to assess its impact and effectiveness. Should the initial phase prove successful the MOD could exercise options for additional drones for deployment to other LSOC sites.
