Sole surviving UOC Custom makes maiden post-restoration flight from airfield where it was first based 85 years ago On 9 January, the world’s only surviving Waco UOC Custom, ZK‑AEL, made its first flight for nearly 65 years at Omaka near Blenheim, New Zealand, the self-same airfield where it became the flagship of the Marlborough Aero Club fleet nearly 87 years ago, in May 1936. The 1935 cabin sesquiplane has been restored over the past 15 years for a syndicate of
