US bolsters air assets due to worsening Middle East crisis
The US Department of Defense announced on September 30, 2024 its plans to increase the number of aircraft it has in the Middle East.It was revealed that “some of the augmented forces being sent to the region include F-16, F-15E and F-22 fighter aircraft, as well as A-10 attack aircraft…”. Due to operational security concerns no numbers of aircraft or timelines were disclosed. The aircraft deployments being sent will augment rather than replace forces already there.
