US border agency begins to scale back AEW-configured Orion fleet
The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency’s Air and Marine Operations (AMO) branch has started scaling back its P-3B operations and has retired at least two of its radar-equipped Orions. Lockheed P-3B Orion (N145CS, BuNo 155299) was flown to Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, in September and has since joined the vast aircraft collection owned by the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona. This aircraft was the first of eight Orions to be equipped with airborne early warning (AEW)
