US Catalina project makes progress

The Commemorative Air Force Lake Superior Squadron has released an update on its long-term restoration of Consolidated PBY-6A Catalina BuNo 64097 The CAF is aiming to return the amphibian to airworthy status, working on it diligently at the Lake Superior Squadron’s base at Richard I. Bong Memorial Airport in Wisconsin. In recent months the team has completed the installation of new hangar doors – they had previously had to protect the aircraft against the harsher weather by putting it inside
