US targets ISIS in Somalia

US Navy jets have carried out a series of air strikes targeting Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists based in Somalia, US Africa Command has revealed. No details of the aircraft involved have been disclosed but it is understood that F/A-18 aircraft were launched from the Harry S Truman aircraft carrier, which is in the Red Sea spearheading operations against Houthi rebels in Yemen who have been targeting commercial shipping in the region.
