USAF risks bearing costs of future KC-46 delays

The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) has recommended that the US Air Force (USAF) fully test the KC-46A tanker programme’s remote vision system (RVS) before the technology enters service in order to address previously highlighted deficiencies. In a late-January report, the GAO revealed that manufacturer Boeing and the USAF were working to address several deficiencies in the KC-46 programme that were delaying the type’s use of full aerial refuelling capabilities. Of these, two relate to the aircraft’s RVS, which allows
