The British-built de Havilland Venom was developed during the late 1940s. It entered service in 1952 with the Royal Air Force, although it was also operated by the Swiss, Swedish, and Venezuelan air forces. The Swiss Air Force was the final operator, retiring its fleet in 1983.

SwissMilSim’s version is based on the Swiss Venom MK 4 version with instruments in metric values with French labelling. The package is designed using MSFS native animation code, night lighting effects and Physically Based Rendering (PBR) textures.

The flight model was tested by former Venom pilots in the Swiss Air Force. It sports details such as compression effects, pre-stall buffeting and speeds that correspond to actual flight tests. It also comes with effects such as wing flex and an authentic ground steering model with differential brakes.

Other highlights include a detailed 3D cockpit and realistic engine modelling with fuel consumption based on the original manual. Engine fires will occur if the thrust lever is advanced too quickly or if the engine is run at full power for extended periods.
The Venom is available on simMarket for €28.19 (approx £25).
