The implementation of the new route was announced in April of this year.

The inauguration of the new service helps to strengthen the IAG network from the Northern Irish airport, as both Aer Lingus and British Airways have developed a comprehensive route network from the base.

“The addition of Vueling Airlines to Belfast City Airport will provide passengers with more choice this summer, bringing the total number of UK and European destinations served from the airport to 26,” said Katy Best, commercial director at Belfast City Airport.

Last month, British Airways commenced services to Exeter, Leeds, Bradford, Newquay and Glasgow from Belfast following the collapse of Stobart Air on June 11.
