Wake turbulence cited as cause of USAF F-35A crash at Hill AFB
Full details of the Accident Investigation Board report into the loss of a USAF F-35A Lightning II at Hill AFB, Utah, on October 19, 2022, have now been published. The official report was released on July 27 and identified the aircraft involved as 15-5197/HL operated out of Hill AFB by the 421st Fighter Squadron (FS) ‘Black Widows’ and assigned to the 388th Fighter Wing (FW). An executive summary of the report states that, on October 19, 2022, at approximately 18:08:36hrs
