Weather defeats Russia’s Victory Day flypast
A proposed flypast of Russia’s combat air assets due to participate in Moscow’s Victory Day parade commemorations on May 9, held to mark the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Second World War, was cancelled at late notice. Speaking to Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Russian press secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed the absence of the air display at the event. Earlier reports had suggested the cause was down to local weather conditions. A Russian Il-76MD during rehearsals for the 2019
