A British Airways flight diverted into Aberdeen this morning (October 11) while on route to Reykjavík/Keflavík airport in Iceland.
BA800 made a U-turn over northwest Scotland and landed around 30 minutes later.
A British Airways spokesperson told Key.Aero that this event was not an emergency landing and that the pilots decided to request priority as a precaution due to a customer requiring medical assistance.
The Airbus A320neo G-TTNP (c/n 10548), departed Heathrow at 7.25am local time and began the diversion towards the Scottish airport at around 8.50am. It landed safely at 9.21am.
According to the spokesperson, the jet is anticipated to be on the ground for about an hour and will then continue on to its original destination.
