Flypast and Aeroplane Monthly have teamed up with Lancasterflightuk.co.uk to give one lucky reader the chance to win a Lancaster Bomber Command Experience.
Arrive at Cann in North Dorset, enjoy an introductory talk, over coffee, explaining the history of the project. Enter into another building and be taken back to 1943 wartime England and be totally immersed in the RAF Bomber Command in WW11.
Enter the briefing room, surrounded by wartime Air ministry artefacts and be briefed about what is going to happen.
Enter the Link Trainer room and view many bomber command exhibits before flying the Link Trainer.
Climb about the Lancaster Bomber, view and move past the radio operator and navigators stations until seated in the pilots position. With help, take off , fly a sortie around the Isle of Wight terminating in a low level bomb run along the Fleet and landing back at Hurn airfield. Take a break, then return to the pilots seat and fly from RAF Scampton on the first leg of a WW11 bombing run terminating over the North sea.
All this in the only 464 provisioning Lancaster, set up as such, worldwide, with working gauges and full immersion graphics. You will fly with a flight instructor as a Flight Engineer next to you so no previous flying experience required.
