Wizz Air expands Albania network

The airline will add a new aircraft and two new routes starting from July

Wizz Air has announced the allocation of an Airbus A321 to its Tirana base which coincides with the airline adding two new routes from the Albanian Capital to Barcelona, Spain and Cologne, Germany, that will launch in July.

The operator says the new routes will add to the annual capacity of Tirana Airport by over 574,000 seats alongside increasing frequency on its existing ten destinations from the region.

George Michalopoulos, chief commercial officer at Wizz Air said: “I am pleased to announce the basing of a fifth aircraft in Tirana and the launch of two new routes to Barcelona and Cologne. Our brand new A321ceo aircraft as well as our enhanced protective measures will ensure the best possible sanitary conditions for travellers while operating with the lowest environmental footprint. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board with great service and a smile.”
