Warbird broker Platinum Fighters has announced that a Yakovlev Yak-3UA is available to buy
The Yak registered in France as F-AZXZ and based at the Coulommiers airfield, east of Paris, is available to buy with an asking price of $400,000 (£334,000).
It’s one of six similar aircraft rebuilt by US-based Frenchman Jean-Marie Garric in the early 2000s, and is based on an original, 1944 Yak-3U fuselage. Fitted with an Allison V-1710-111 engine (instead of the original Klimov VK-107), the aircraft is painted in in Normandy Neiman Squadron markings, representing the machine flown by Roland de la Poype.
