Well the weather didnt behave, but that didnt stop the LLA day with the BBMF being an interesting and memorable day.
The ‘new’ BBMF Spitfire TE311 is comely along nicely with wings and engine fitted and standing on its undercarriage.
The two BoB fighters followed the Lanc out for a taxi to the hold and back, the weather state being ‘yellow’ rather than the much better ‘green’ prevented the BBMF flying, but it was still wonderful to hear six Merlins.
I left at 1500 for the long trek back and stepped from the hangar just as the Red Arrow’s saluted the day with red, white and blue smoke on their way back to Scampton.
All in all, a great first visit for me, and a nice haul of goodies from the BBMF!
Thankyou to the LLA and to the BBMF for making the visit possible!
