I was watching the a/m program the other day. During the program, a silver British Lightning showed up, mentioned as a special equipped, high altitude research aircraft (Or words like that)

I guess the interceptor origin of the aircraft showed when the pilot, after retracting the landing gear and keeping it low above the runway for a few seconds – to build up sufficient airspeed I assume? – yanked the stick backward and made an almost vertical climb.

Short, but very impressive scenes 🙂

Which Lightning could that be?

The natural metal one was ZU-BEX (XS451), and the black one used as the film camera ship in the air was ZU-BBD (XS452).
