Dear Friends,

Stampe & Renard SR.7B Monitor IV, serial number 1003, is the same aircraft as Farman F.500.

F.500 Monitor I, serial number 1001, flew 11.07.1952, reg. number F-WFOF. It aircraft still had wooden wing, the engine is Renault 4 Pei.

In 1953 it was converted to F.520 Monitor III with Regnier 4L engine, first flight 15.06.1953, reg.number didn’t change.

Only in 1955 F.510 Monitor II c/n 1002 become airborne (first flight 05.08.1955). She and SR.7B both had metal wing.

And the last, but not least: SR.7B Monitor IV, built not by Farman, but by Stampe & Renard, c/n, of course, 1003.

This aircraft was joint venture of Farman and SR. But nor France airforce, neither Belgian one oredered it, so only 3 prototypes (2 by Farman and 1 by SR) were built at all.

First won of L.Biancotto on SR.7B was in 1955 on Coventry Air Race, UK.
