“Built at Hatfield and registered to London Aeroplane Club as G-ACSK. British C of A number 4289 expired 26 June 1940. UK registration cancelled 30 May 1940 and shipped to New Zealand for RNZAF. BOC with Unit 18 Rongotai on 19 June 1940. With No.3 EFTS, Harewood 1943-1944. Issued free to the Wellington Aero Club from Woodbourne on 14 August 1948 and entered the New Zealand Civil Aircraft Register as ZK-ASS on 21 September 1948. To Aerial Fertilising Co Ltd, Wellington on 17 May 1950 for use as topdresser. Entered service as topdresser on 23 September 1950. Crashed at Koeke Junction near Taihape on 31 October 1950 killing pilot Steven Symes. The aircraft stalled in a climbing turn and collided with a steep hillside. Cancelled from register on 01 May 1952.”
