They state that the bunker at Uxbridge will be “saved”…possibly by a museum or other such group, as it listed. The thought of Bentley Priory either being pulled down or converted into flats is frankly appalling. I would suggest that this is akin to chopping up the Victory for matchwood.

Bentley Priory is also listed. Can see it going back to its pre RAF use as a hotel. Just hope they could incorperate some sort of museum, maybe based around Dowding’s office. If the whole site is purchased as one, some housing could be built on the land but the house and gardens kept intact.

I’ve been lucky enough to visit both Bently Priory and the bunker at RAF Uxbridge. If both could be opened up to the public it would be great for future generation’s understanding of the Battle Of Britain.
