Consideration is being given to loaning out our T-33 for display for a period of four years while work concentrates on projects ahead of it in the queue. The only stipulations are that it must remain in the country, be placed under cover and be made available for regular inspection.

If any museums are interested please contact me in the first istance.

Thanks,

George

Unless this is one which is entirely privately owned, this will be a USAFM Museum loan aircraft and as such will have a loan agreement between yourselves and Dayton. I’m not aware of the ability to cross-loan these aircraft to other organisations, in which case the USAFM may decide you are indicating you no longer are interested in the airframe. I’m sure this is not the case but be aware you may unwhitingly put the airframe at danger of disposal from under you.
Similar airframes from Wales and more recently Hemswell and Lashenden have been scrapped as the USAFM are no longer interested interested in placing them with other organisations. The Bentwaters Cold War museum has been unsuccessfully lobbying for some time now to aquire a suitable airframe via this route with no success as in the post 9/11 era the American authorities are less than enamoured in placing ‘War Material’ in the hands of private individuals/organisations outside the continental USA.
Please do not take any of this as a criticism, just a ‘heads up’ about how you should approach the situation.
