Vulcan at MAM????

Coincidentally we are only a few days past the anniversary of XL360 arriving at Coventry Airport – 4th February, 1983. The Museum paid the MoD £5028 virtually all of this raised by local donations.

XL360 stayed parked on the apron for several months until the ground was dry/firm enough to tow her to the Museum. Thankfully it was a hot dry summer and, despite it being an uphill run, a VERY large tractor provided by Massey Fergusson (at that time a Coventry company) did the job admirably. Only one ‘soft’ spot was found during the move.
