Agree 100%. An unwinnable war, obvious to all but the politicians. Should never have gone anywhere near Iraq or Afganistan. Jim as you say we could be there for a 100 years with unlimited resources and we could not/would not win. We are wasting lives and resources. One has to wonder why we are waiting until 2014 to withdraw our troops: likely, another 200 or so will have been killed or seriously maimed.

What ever you thought of the rights and wrongs of the Falklands escapade at least there was the chance of an outcome, oh yes, and the Islanders actually wanted us there.
