Jim,
You won’t very often read this from me: I hope beyond desperation that I am completely wrong about the future of our beloved country. The present and ever growing evidence contradicts that pious hope.

Well within my lifetime and yours, this nation was at peace with itself. National cohesion wasn’t mentioned but, we knew that we had it. Our people had self discipline and self respect. Wherever I went in the world and I have worked in most countries, the British were respected to the point of embarrassment. We were looked up to and admired for our honesty, impartiality, energy and commitment. I could tell so many stories in support of that statement.

All that is now gone and we begin to stare into the Abyss. The potential for terminal conflict in the Middle East grows by the month. Possessing an increasingly large and very politically active Moslem population, what will happen when we are called upon to take sides in the never ending dispute between Arab and Jew ?

Imagine if you will, a third world war. Our Govt. introduces nationwide conscription. We have already been witness to the home grown antipathy desplayed by various factions in this country in consideration of our actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. That was a tea party. I’m inferring to something much much more serious in the future – Heaven forbid !

John, I have to agree once again with you, we have given them the hammer, and now await the first blow, how many sleeper units have we in G.B? and as I understand it. MI5 and 6 are struggling to bring their numbers up to scratch.
I could go on about us Brits, and what other Countries thought of us, but it’s the Polititions thats screwed this Country up, not the individual.thats given us a bad name.
