It’s always difficult recommending car insurance companies, other than for reliability and service.
Costs can vary so much according to where you live, and your personal circumstances.
What’s cheapest for one, may be the most expensive for another.

It doesn’t always pay to stay with the same insurer, as there is no loyalty discount.
In fact the opposite often applies.

I use Swinton for my car, and AA for my van.
