In an aviation context he will be remembered for starring in not only the F-14 vs Zero replica film The Final Countdown, but also the short lived television version of Blue Thunder where his costar was Dana Carvey long before the latter became a star in Saturday Night Live and the Wayne’s World films. Also he did a detective series where he flew a Lockheed JetStar (which he parachuted out of on occasion).

He also starred with Suzanne Pleshette in a bad late 60s TV film Wings of Fire, a very soapy airplane film featuring a Bearcat and Mustang racers as plucky female pilot tries to save her father’s struggling aviation business..
