Don’t agree one bit SNAFU, when you retire, I bet you a pound to a pinch of the proverbial, you wouldn’t be able to live on the State Pension alone.
Thinking of number one?. no, just common sense in making sure that when I retired, I would have enough to live the life I do, without having to rely on handouts.
Have you noticed just how many “Food Banks” there are in this Country of late?.

Agree or don’t agree – up to you, but SOME people get nothing more than state pension, some couldn’t afford to take on an additional pension, some have been shafted by their employers, some didn’t/couldn’t work or have been married & divorced without building up the necessary number of stamps. For those people there is no choice but to rely on what the government hands out – no choice – but that doesn’t seem to be of much interest around here (hence number one).
As for food banks, who do you think needs food banks? People who can’t afford food, maybe? Like, as an example. down on their luck single pension pensioners…? And what did they do when they worked – shop assistants, farm workers, road maintenance, building and decorating, in fact anything that couldn’t let them put anything away for a rainy post work afterlife. Who cares for them? Not you lot, it seems…
