Granny Bumble’s approach of eating a little of what you fancy is always good advice, although with mass produced factory food that should probably be tiny amounts.
This will be tried when the dates get back in the shop. Proper dates, not the force grown Tunisian/Spanish ones (They are still nice, but not as good as Arabian).

Oh, by the way. My Garden Fig tree has actually produced some decent ones this year. They are about 2 inch diameter…..but how do I know when they are ripe? There are so few of them on the tree, the practice of sacrificial tests cannot be used.
