I tried some once and there is no doubt that the major constituent of the coating is a proprietary brand of wallpaper adhesive called ‘Polycell’ over here in the UK

I think the real receipe is as follows

Take as many old battery hens that are past their laying days as possible and rip their legs off

Mix a large bucket of Polycell extra strngth vinyl wallpaper adhesive using 50% of the recommended water to dilute.

If this water happens to come from the outfall of your local public convenience, so much the better.

Dip legs briefly in the mixture, then dip the chickens legs too.

Shred some brown wrapping paper and sprinkle liberally on the legs (Chickens, not yours. Well – please yourself really)

Season if you must. There might as well be some taste.

Freeze for several months.

Chuck into hot axle grease and nuke for about 5 minutes.

Sell to the gullible and those without any taste buds for a vast mark-up.
