The disappointment of not being elected to the European Parliament must be balanced by the pride in what we achieved. We won the largest vote of any non-party candidate in the Euopean elections. We drew attention to the scandals of MEPs’ allowances and expenses. We exposed a scandal of unrepresentative democracy. We drove a nail into the coffin of the undemoctratic closed list sysrtem of elections. We stirred things up. We made a difference.
