Would you care to elaborate taking the geography of the Persian Gulf and the Hormoz Strait into account, what is the most potent Iranian AShM and whats its theoretical range, platform…etc and how effective would it be if it was to be used against a US CVBG in salvos. I mean Iran can launch AShm from Su-24’s, F-4’s, Its fast attack missile boats as well as land based launchers which can be mounted on Iranian Islands or coast line. Given the size of the Persian Gulf, Tracking a CVBG should not be a big problem. please elaborate?

Also why are they making AShM with such small ranges while they have longer ranged ones? Thanks
