The spent R&D post 2010 is significant. I’ve posted a direct (post LRS-B restructure) dollar amount but the indirect amount is probably equal if not greater. Then there are other investments in complementary technology development efforts supporting the F-35, RQ-180 and other OMS approaches. While anything can happen during development, such being the nature of the beast the B-21 starts off at a much higher TRL for many critical systems than the F-35 or F-22 programs and of course world apart from the “miracle a day” B-2. The bomber teams have been working at solving this puzzle for more than a decade now under different programs.
