Hello gentlemen,
Thank you both for replying and comments on the best paints to use.
I am going to buy a copy of the scale modelling step by step guide for beginners, looks exactly what I need as its been so many years since my last model and have much to relearn.
Paul..thank you for the heads up on the britmodellor website, looks fantastic and will certainly be joining up.
Derekf…Thank you for comments on the 1/24th scale spitfire kit, certainly sounds that buying the MkVb kit is better than buying the Mk1, as might be able to make either version, though may end up buying the Hurricane in the same scale just for the kidney shape Exhaust stacks to put on the mk1 spitfire, this is what I did on my last build and used the fishtail type on a Mk 2 hurricane model afterwards. Always thought that the merlin engine model in the Hurricane was far better in both detail and fit than the original merlin in the spitfire, did airfix ever change it?
Picked up a copy of the Modellers datafile by SAM publications on the merlin spitfire, only had it a few days but finding its very interesting and useful, can you recommend any further reading?
Having thought about it I think it would be best if I cut my teeth on the 1/72 spitfire as like here

Before embarking back into 1/24, suppose its a bit like riding a bike.:D
