My first Oshkosh – certainly a ‘wow’ factor for me!

Shared a School Bus with paulc but didn’t realise until I got back to the U.K. We have since met to compare notes.

I was at the end of a trip around Western Ontario, taking in the Norseman Festival at Red Lake with a good few floatplane flights en-route. Even had the enlightening experience of the right hand seat in a C310 (not on floats!) with only two greens… Happy ending to that tale – fault with microswitch/wiring, only traceable when safely back on the ground.

Having only the Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Oshkosh meant a certain amout of planning and a great deal of walking to try to get the most from my visit. (14.5 miles walked on the Saturday!) I did manage to fly in the Tri-Motor, B-17 and Bell 47 as well as blagging a ride in a Cub on floats. Many, many photos – still not sorted/weeded out into a reasonable length presentation, so friends and relatives are safe for the moment.

This was a trip that I had been promising myself for years – it did not disappoint!
