3.5 days to get there and 2 days to get back. We took a scenic route down. We had to be over the Giordan Lighthouse at 12:10 local on the Saturday. The rules are here:

There were 2 or 3 from England. One was a Mooney and the other a Commander, G-TECH. Longest distance flown was a Swedish Robin DR400 from North of the Arctic Circle. I think fuel prices and the fact that Italy can be difficult to fly through and the shortage of GA airfields with 100LL make it a bit daunting.
The guy that won it this year has won the last 2 years so he knows the score. We were good for our first attempt.
