I landed at Brazzaville once, there was windshear on final approach due to a nearby thunderstorm. There was an AN12 about 10 miles behind us, so I called him directly on the radio and warned him of the windshear. “No problem!”, he replied. After parking, which was at about 45 degrees facing the runway, I saw the AN12 rolling out but something didn’t look right, he was right wing low. He had landed hard and collapsed the right landing gear (which btw is built like a brick SH) and careered off the runway onto the grass, which seemed to be in slow motion. After a short while the hatches opened and the Russian crew emerged, gathered in a small group around the plane, out with their cigarettes and stood around with their hands in their pockets discussing whatever like nothing happened. 😮
