Many Thanks TEEJ,

After seeing your photos , I wish one day to aspire to making as good photos as you, they are trully brilliant in detail, I would hate to think how much your camera costs LOL,
I too love the Tornado in the smoke
I only wish I had a Better pic of the Venom, as it was the first time i have ever seen one fly, and I have a great interest in venoms and Vampires , anything from that era, But i could not zoom in close enough for a decent shot,
What sort of camera could i get on a Low Budget to get good results, any advice would be greatly recieved, or are we talking £800 Minimum for one that can do the job 😉

Thanks for the comments.

Hi Merkle,
The subject of camera equipment is very much open to debate. I started off mid-range camera gear with Nikon equipment and then went up to professional Nikon range as of last year. I couldn’t really justify pro equipment until recently as I just didn’t have the time to pursue my hobby. One advice I can give you is to buy the best quality lens that you can afford. I shoot a lot at the 600mm end, but that is only with a Nikon 2.0x teleconverter fitted to my prime 300mm f.2.8. I also use a 1.4x teleconverter to give me that extra reach from my 300mm. It is a lot cheaper option as 500mm and 600mm f/2.8 lenses are hugely expensive!

The best advice that I can give is to join forums such as

http://www.airshows.co.uk/

http://forums.airshows.co.uk/cgi-bin/ukarboard/ikonboard.cgi

No offence to the board here, but the above forum is more active. Most posters have their equipment posted on their signatures and the board are chock full of images. Ask questions and view a full range of other snappers work. If you can’t find an answer in the search engines create your own post and you’ll receive useful advice.

There is always the forum on here. There might be a question posed and still in the search engine on camera advice. Possibly post on here too and see if someone picks it up?

Try forums and the search engines on the following.

Before buying you might want to hire a lens/camera before you splash out?

Hope this is of help?

Cheers
