I flew to Hungary a couple of weeks ago with my TV camera batteries in the hold. No problem as long as your lithium batteries are compliant with current air transportation regulations, which my very expensiive and highly tested camera batteries are. The problem comes with cheap imitation and cloned batteries made in unscrupulous Chinese factories, apparently.
