What is this feature, because I’m able to save pictures to my own desktop without any problems?

It possibly embeds a code into the photo file that can be matched up with the version uploaded on that site, so even if you do copy it the photo can be linked to the original phototographer and copyright owner. At least that’s how I’ve heard of it being done before.
